The Summer Internship Program (SIP) at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the NIH offers high school, college, medical, and graduate students a unique opportunity to engage in intramural research. Located in Bethesda, Maryland, and Framingham, Massachusetts, the program spans six to eight weeks during the summer. Participants work under the guidance of NHLBI principal investigators in basic and clinical research areas. In addition to hands-on research experience, interns benefit from professional development events and mentorship opportunities, fostering growth in medical and scientific knowledge.
