The Congressional Art Competition is a nationwide high school visual art competition held each spring to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the United States and in each congressional district. Since its inception in 1982, over 650,000 high school students have participated. Students submit their artwork to their representative's office, and district artists select the winners. The winners are honored in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, DC. The winning artworks are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. This competition provides a prestigious platform for young artists to showcase their talent.
