Earplay Donald Aird Composers Competition

The Earplay Donald Aird Composers Competition is an annual event sponsored by Earplay, open to composers of any nationality and age. The competition celebrates the legacy of Donald Aird, a composer, conductor, and former Earplay board member dedicated to the creation and performance of new music. Participants can submit compositions for 1 to 6 players, with or without electronics, and of any duration, though 8-15 minutes is preferred. The winner receives a $1,000 cash prize and the opportunity for their piece to be performed by Earplay in their next season. The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2024, and the winner is announced in the fall.
