United States Senate Youth Program

The United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP) is a prestigious opportunity for high school students interested in public service, leadership, and government. Established in 1962, the program invites two student leaders from each state, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Education Activity to spend a week in Washington, D.C., experiencing the U.S. government in action. Participants engage with senators, cabinet members, and officials from various federal agencies. Highlights include meetings with the president and a U.S. Supreme Court justice. All expenses are covered, and each delegate receives a $10,000 college scholarship for undergraduate studies, with a focus on history and political science.
