The Global Canvas Children's Art Competition, organized by the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, is an annual international art contest aimed at fostering creativity among young people while raising awareness for environmental and wildlife conservation. Established in 2004, the competition invites children and young people aged 16 and under to submit artwork reflecting the year's theme, which for 2024 is "The Barometer of Life." This theme focuses on the importance of the 'Red List' of endangered species and the pressures they face. Participants can use any art technique, including painting, sculpture, and textiles, and are encouraged to use recycled materials. Winners receive prizes such as cash or vouchers for art supplies, digital animal adoptions, and certificates.
